Suede loafer Color choice, What after brown?

I already have several suede loafer in brown, and have to admit it is very versatile , but I want to try something new, which color do you think will do the best versatile situation for suede after brown ? Navy, Black, Beige or Neutral ???

Not an expert, and I don't have many pairs of shoes, but I've been interested in getting some new loafers so I'll weigh in with my opinion.

A different shade of brown suede (e.g., dark and mid brown) or some other textured brown leathers (some kinds of grains, or even pigskin) would be my choices. You can play with different designs too, like butterfly strap, full strap. I've always liked the idea of textured full strap penny loafers, I think Marquess and Nicholas Templeman make the best ones I've seen.

For the record, I have a pair of navy suede rain last loafers from Carmina (my only suede loafers), putting fit issues aside, I don't really find them easy to wear. I always wished that I went with dark brown instead.

Lighter shades will probably have a similar issue to lighter brown calf shoes, they won't pair well with dark trousers. Black suede isn't something that's on my radar (yet?), probably because I haven't seen many of them.

I would agree that sticking in the brown family makes sense and perhaps varying the style a bit. For example, I just picked up a pair of brown suede butterfly loafers from Crockett & Jones that fill a perceived niche.

I have a pair of brownish- beige three eyelet derbies from Ludwig Reiter that
wear w/sport coats, blazers and even dark brown birds eye suit.

I would recommend the Alden unlined suede loafer in ”snuff.” It’s a beautiful honey-brown color that’s not your average brown and fairly unique. Beige is a bit too light for anything but summer lawn party IMHO.

Also, have you ever considered navy blue? Looks very sharp with dark jeans and a navy belt.

Very attractive and versatile, which includes wearing blue, grey, brown and olive trousers.

I agree with @DorianGreen in suggesting blue suede. Blue suede is a classic, nice casual colour.
