Here's something that I never figured out... what's stylish rainwear for you guys? Not a decent umbrella with an overcoat, I suppose?

There are few items I find more luxurious than a nice umbrella. I just received one with whangee handle, brass fittings and silk canopy. Beyond that, I have an Inveretere reversible raincoat -- a wool windowpane on one side, for dry-weather wear, and traditional tan on the other.

Traditional tan?

Is an overcoat/raincoat traditionally tan like a sailor's duffle coat?

I enjoy, and receive compliments on, my DB trenchcoats -- in tan, black and charcoal, by London Fog and Burberry's. Need a navy Aquascutum, though.

Given the chance (and the funds) I'd go for the classic Aquascutum (sp?) Bogart trench. It never has and never will go out of style. That or the comparable Burberry.

I bought a very cool raincoat from Arnys Paris in burnt orange this year. I think they have it on their website. Certainly not a classic color!

I've been trying on some trenches by Burberry and Aquascutum and they all look very baggy; I think the are the a traditional cut. The ones you own, are they the Prorsum Burberry line?

I've seen these coats referred to on the forums. What are they exactly? Loro Piano trench coats? An all-weather overcoat? Any photos or links? Thank you.

What happens when it's cold in fall and you need to wear a wool coat to keep warm, and then it rains? Are there raincoats that go over the wool overcoats?
