So I have learned a lot from the forum, I'm 25 a former track and basketball athlete so I never thought that I was fat until I started shopping for 'streetwear' I'm about 5'9 and weigh 170, I still have a pretty athletic frame but there is no way in hell I see myself fitting into jeans like Nudie or APC. Any clothing suggestions for guys who have an athletic figure and still want to find good 'streetwear.'

H&M doesn't really fit me well, APC doesn't really fit me too well, Uniqlo jeans don't fit but their sweaters usually fit pretty well. I want to venture into some Japanese brands because I like the style but I worry I'm a bit too large. Any suggestions?

probably a good idea to take some measurements of yourself - it's probably your thigh that'll be the kicker (i'm the same). Try measuring your upper thigh and waist - most online stores have measurements of these two things. They probably the most important part of buying jeans since if they fit in those two places they'll fall into line mostly.

A trick on jeans if that you can buy good quality jeans that are a slightly looser fit like a KMW 2010 or something (not super A&F baggy) and you should do alright in the seat and thighs. Then once you have a good fit from the knee up you can see whether you like the looseness of the denim from the top of the knee down, or you can have it tailored to be slimmer opening depending on what you're going for. There are plenty of well made loose fitting trousers out there for cheap. So you likely could do the same for them as well.

Remember you can always take away fabric, but you can't add it.

Good points, on the jeans my thighs and butt usually tend to be the issue. I'll definitely look with you guy's suggestions in mind. Any brands with quality tops that may fit?

If I were you I would check out some of the many Japanese 1947 501 repros by Sugar Cane, SDA and a host of others. Beautiful denim and roomy in the seat and thighs. Not cheap though.
