Thanks for posting an update so quickly, Kahuna. I imagine the extra roll to the Chelsea gore lends itself to a wider aperture that would allow for an easier entry and perhaps a likelihood of heel slippage for a person with a not meaty heel.

Are you concerned that the gore will continue to relax? Couldn't tell whether one would appreciate the easier entry or end up concerned about the gore becoming too flaccid, thereby compromising the line of the side profile.

Either way, those suede chelseas look nice and might end up being a next viberg for me.

New update on my rydenfranks: decided to brave the NJ snow and grab takeout for my family. Put the RFs on with my thick Merz Schwanen woolen socks (slightly moist from having worn them while frolicking in the snow while wearing ironside Indys earlier with my son). These same Merz socks were next to impossible to shove into the chelseas the very first day. Now they just slipped in like buttah.

Long story short: after a slight break in and stretching period, the fit is perfect and wearable for a 12 hour workday. I believe they will be a close to perfect boot for easy on, easy off wear when it's mucky outside but time to run to the grocery store or coffee shop. I'll be keeping them by the front door with my m65 jacket...

Is it necessary to put any product on the Reverse Mushroom Chamois Chelsea to protect it - like you would a suede?

trucked through some snow and slop walking the dog yesterday...they cleaned right up....i spray my suede in a regular basis but never have reverse chamoise
