New bballs look alright, not as nice as the new vintage highs.

Covered so far (as they were the most promising)

    Monitaly
    Yuketen
    Svensson
Stutterheim (rain coats - just some details so might just go in this thread and not be fully covered)
Nicholas K (sup synth) (hidden placket everything)
Krane (beautiful goods but the pictures are iffy so I'll see what I can do about that)
    Momotaro
    Real Japan Blues
    Naked & Famous

and a handful of obscure Japanese brands.

Teger, what did you think of the stock at Atelier? I know you've seen plenty of that stuff online before, but curious to know what your impression was seeing it up close. (I'm of course assuming you haven't really seen most of that stuff up close before, so correct me if I'm wrong.)

Did you get to speak with Oliver ( Oliver Spencer) or David ( Universal Works)? If you see them tell them I said " Hi".

I actually have seen most of those brands in person before (I visited Atelier's old space a number of times), but I was with my girlfriend who had never seen any of them, or really knew much about artisanal style brands, and she was pretty taken aback - she described the clothing as art as much as fashion, which is interesting because the line between art and fashion is one of the things I discussed with Karlo during the interview.

Overall, the impression you get from the clothes, and especially the shoes, is weight. The leather jackets are physically heavy and imposing, and the shoes are very substantial.

No, apparently Oliver left Sunday night and David was mobbed at the Universal Works booth. I did get to talk to Hiroshi Awai of Creep.

Also just left Kamakura Shirts - really, really impressive. Amazing quality and construction for the price, and the fits are slim in all the right ways. Awesome.

oh, figured you wouldn't have been before because it doesn't seem like your thing. always curious to hear first impressions. haven't been to the new space. hear it's really small.
