Nice segue.

Second: My wife was sitting on the subway last week and provoked the gentleman across from her to say "You're staring at me. Is there something wrong?". To which she responded "Yes. You're dressed like my husband. I'll tell you the same thing I tell him - it's not the 20s."

The description I was given was:

Too-tight suit
Too-short pants
Bow-tie
Pocket scarf thingy (pocketsquare, dear)
Hat
Bamboo-handle umbrella
"What do you call it when shoes are dark in one place and light in another?" - "Antiqued? Spectators?" - "Yes, spectators."

So my apologies to the well-dressed gentleman on the NRQ at Herald Square last week, but SF and RL overlapped...

Rating: 10/10

You know what is still like the 20s? Telling your wife to know her place.

UK SF'er - two weeks ago - Sloane Square - bowler hat, DB chalkstripe, cane sun umbrella, polished black brogues, escorting your wife to the underground station, getting stared at by everybody including myself.

Who are you?

This is not so unusual for Sloane Square.

Have you seen the bloke who rides his penny farthing down the Kings Road? I wonder if that's a SF approved method of transport.

Wasn't me but I wish I had more chances to wear my bowler.

I had been shadowing my aunt to get a taste of what life is as a dentist, I was commuting to the capital to grab a train further up north and on the commute the train gets overcrowded. A man in his 20's comes up to me and says "Excuse me, but I have a reservation for this seat." I excuse myself and as I get my things I notice he's wearing Swims, with brogues, chinos and a tweed jacket (PS too iirc)*. I nearly complimented him on his sartorial attire but the Swedish in me shut me up.

* Might not sound as much, but when you consider the level of style in my home town (just shy of 100k population), you get the idea.
