Hi all, In the season's spirit of giving, Styleforum is raising money to support the Ronald McDonald House (http://rmhc.org/), which houses the families of ill children who need to travel for treatment. When I lived in Boston, I got to know a little boy who needed to be treated for cancer at the Massachusetts General Hospital. His family was able to accompany him during the course of his treatment because of the hospitality offered by the Ronald McDonald House. Matthew has been home with his family for a few years now, after successful treatment. This charity holds a special place in my heart. Last year, your generous donations allowed us to raise over $4K for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This year, we want to surpass that goal. Styleforum is trying to raise $5K this holiday season. 1% of the goal set by the Ronald McDonald House organization for December 31. Accordingly, our campaign will start immediately, and run until January 1, 2010. We hope that you will give generously. Donations via paypal can be made to [email protected] . We will also accept personal checks and other forms of payment. Please email to [email protected] if you wish to arrange to pay another way. Raffle We will also be holding a raffle. Tickets are $25 each, and can be bought by paypal. Simply paypal the desired multiples of $25 to styeforumgives.gmail, and indicate "Raffle" in the subject line. The following prizes have been donated, and will be updated regularly. 1) Context (www.contextclothing.com) $300 gift certificate 2) Epaulet (www.Epauletshop.com) $250 gift certificate 3) Farinelli's (www.shopfarinellis.com) $200 gift certificate 4) Brigade (www.brigadeshop.com) $200 gift certificate 5) Drinkwaters (www.drinkwaterscambridge.com ) $200 gift certificate (redeemable on full priced items only) 6) Selfedge (www.selfedge.com) 2x $100 gift certificates 7) www.CustomShirt1.com ($500 gift certificate) 8) The Hanger Project (www.hangerproject.com) $150 gift certificate

Stupid question. Does the money for the raffle tickets go to Ronald McDonald as well?

Yes. All the money from the raffle also goes to the RMH. I could not convince any affiliates to donate prizes for the Footwear-for-Fok Fund.

You can win only once if you only buy one ticket, so you can win as many times as you have tickets. The raffle will be done by the electronic equivalent of pulling tickets out of a hat, with a random number generator.

How should we paypal the funds to minimize SF paying fees, as a gift?

Yes, I think that the "gift" option works. Please make sure to put "Charity fundraiser" in the title so that Paypal doesn't get pissed.

Thanks.

Fok.

We are now up to $2450. Please buy a raffle ticket or just contribute. If you really are opposed to raffles, you can pledge your ticket to me. "I want my winnings to go to Fok for belts."

Holy.... The goal is $5K, right? Should be easy to surpass that at this point.

Well, yes and no. Momentum was really high, and now it has slowed down to $200/day or so. Buy some raffle tickets, people. It's a good cause, and you might even win some fine loot ($300 at Context? That could go a long way.)
