Dear gentleman,

I have a button-up shirt at home that has a tight upper button, it strangles my neck when I close it (I have a wide neck), so I was looking for a little trick that I saw a while ago about how to "tighten" the last button when wearing a tie so that it doesn't look sloppy because the upper button should always be closed when wearing a tie. They used some sort of product that was elastic and could hold the buttons closer to each other without closing them.

Does any of you have an idea where I can find it? Is it even appropriate to wear such a thing? What else style hacks you know for men's formal clothing, that deals with a fit, for example, shirt stays?

Best wishes!

These are called top button extenders, and you can get them all over the place, like these from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Comfy-Clothiers-5-Pack-Collar-Extenders/dp/B01D1ZDKXO

Honestly, it's never going to look quite right. Maybe save that shirt for tieless ocassions.

I assume that you moved the neck button closer to the edge of the collar band as much as you could?
