Hey guys,

looking for some feedback here. I have an event coming up May 13. I mentioned it earlier but now have my outfits down to 2 finalists. This is a casual elegant event, a classy fundraiser. I put on the invitations and posters: Casual Elegant. A suit would be too damn hot, as would a sport coat. Here are my options:

RLPL blue linen ls shirt
RLPL tan ff linen trousers
Moreschi tan and linen spectators

Same RLPL blue linen ls shirt or blue and white check gingham ls shirt from Jantzen
Cream gabardine ff Brooks Bros. trousers
Moreschi spectators

I could ditch the spectators for Venetian loafers, I guess. Between those two that is all i have in terms of light weight summer type shoery.

Whatcha all think?

I think that you will be the most magnificant man there

I like the first option. I would go with the loufers, I don't have the balls to wear specs, but if you do, go for it.

Of course there is no question of my general studliness vis a vis the rich bankers and other deep pocketed philanthropists.

The only prob with the loafers is they are a sad-ass pair of square toed Ferragamos that look like crap. I could of course go with my Alden penny loafers in cordovan.

I like the idea of the spectators - but I also have an aversion to loafers.

The second option sounds better, because of the variety in fabrics and brands. Which shirt to wear probably depends mostly on your physical characteristics.
