Stupid question: how do you sit in a DB suit?

So I like my new DB just fine. But how do I sit in it? Do I leave it all buttoned up (two internal buttons, plust one external)? Do I button it up part way (a combination of some of the three)? Or do I unbutton every button?

I think you need to unbutton every button when you sit down. Regardless whether it is a DB or SB suit.

How you sit with any suit on. Unbutton the buttons.

However, I don't like wrinkled wool suits. So I take the jacket off before I sit (unless at a meeting).

Don't you two find, though, that because of all the fastened buttons, the jacket feels stiff and wants to ride up your torso?

No. It really shouldn't. Maybe your buttoning point is too low. There shouldn't be anything inhibiting movement below where your waist bends to sit.

I understand that the real test of iGentry is to be able to straddle the commode with your DB jacket on and fastened.

Do you button both internal buttons?

Not all DB suits have two internal buttons. More common, in my experience, is one, at the waist level. Raphael makes his with two, one at the waist, and one at the bottom. Yes, I button them both, and leave them buttoned.

I only have a problem sitting in a DB suit if it is a 6x1 buttoned at the bottom. The coat tends to gape open. In that case, when I sit, I simply do up the middle button. Problem solved.
