I'm going to be NYC for the second week of October. Travelling from HK to Newark. It's my second trip, my first was pre 9/11 and I managed to have a drink at the top of the WTC. I've also done the empire state, staten island ferry, guggenheim, moma. Thinking of kicking back, and doing less touristy things and just walk around, eat drink and be merry. I've got a list of eateries from NY magazine, and probably will look at Century 21, filenes and loehmanns.
I was thinking of travelling fairly light (empty suitcase) with clothes for a few days, and then buying as I see things that I like. I've done it before visiting London (pre-SF and so bought labels more than quality) but is this a viable plan in NYC?
Any recommendations for things to see/do/eat/buy much appreciated.
