I was walking through Marshall's today and noticed they have a whole rack filled with khaki sport jackets made by Structure. They must be at least 10 years old!!

Kind of makes you think about how old everything really is at the discount stores.

Actually, they probably came from Sears. I think Sears bought out Structure or something similar happened as you can find Structure branded clothing at Sears.

I thought Express and Structure were the same company and simply combined the brands under one roof. Maybe they sold the "Structure" name to Sears?

As I understand it. The old Structure is now Express Men. Sears sells their own "Structure" brand of no relation.

Who cares how old stuff is at discount stores? If you like it and it's a good price then buy it. Otherwise, don't.

Yes, that is true, but the point was not suppose to be negative, just surprise because I haven't seen anything structure for 10 years when it became express men.

To echo the others, Structure is branded via Sears now

98% chance the jacket at Marshall's is from that line rather than being a garment produced 10 years ago

Side note: The Structure stuff at Sears is actually pretty decent. Probably the best stuff you'll find there besides LE

Ha. I worked at Structure in college to make extra $. Great shop. Everything I bought has lasted until now, but it's stuff I mostly sleep in. Ditto Abercrombie. That stuff is bulletproof, horrible styling notwithstanding.

Waaayyy back in the early/mid nineties I bought a bunch of stuff at Structure. While 99% of the stuff I bought must have ended up in the Goodwill pile, I recently realized that I am still wearing a great pair of their cargo pants and I also have a unique vest that's worth keeping for certain occasions. That stuff is 15+ years old. And those cargo pants got a lot of inconsiderate wear and show very little tear.

This happens at almost all discounters.

I regularly see Yoox selling deadstock "Valentino Jeans" that haven't existed since at least 1999-2000 or so on their regular site (not in the "vintage" area.) They also have Gianfranco Ferre Studio and GFF, neither of which have existed since 2003 or earlier.

I think that they simply buy out a closeout from somewhere, and sell what arrives. It's up to the buyer to differentiate.

Still, kinda bizarre and you wonder how a place had random, unworn stuff sitting around for a decade.

I had two Structure t-shirts that I purchased in 1995 for $19.99 each. Wore them to the gym several times a week until they fell apart in 2005. Not a bad investment at all.
