What do you think? They look nice and the leather seems decent enough. Good price. I'm not completely sure about the contrast deerskin and calf.

preface this by saying i know basically nothing about shoes, but i also dont like that deerskin/calf contrast.

To me it looks just mismatched enough to be conspicuous and not mismatched enough to be a feature...kinda like when people buy new navy pants to go with their orphaned navy suit jacket.

Those look beautiful. I'd go ahead and get them, can't beat the price! Post pictures if you do end up getting them.

I'm curious as to the construction... welted, stitched, glued, etc?

Not a fan of the contrast - I vote no.

Quite a nice shape. Also not a fan of the contrast, but if you like it - the price represent good value.

I have 4 pair of ankle boots or some variation. You'll get good mileage out of the burgundy / brown. I may be in the minority, but I think a nice sharp polished ankle boot looks good with a suit. Allen Edmonds may have some sleek models at a discount as well and they seem to feel more substantial than the JM's. IMO

Well, that's your opinion and you're allowed to have it but I don't agree.

I was going to go for the black, actually.
