Hello--
I just purchased one of the LVC/Sunset "1917" western shirts in a red brick color that I found at the Forward/Revolve site. I normally wear a straight large, but I tend to need an XL with the higher-end "boutique" shirts. The site specifically made a point of stating that the Sunset shirt runs true to size and that there's no need to size up, so I went with the large. (There was no XL available anyhow; I in fact purchased the last large they had.)
The shirt arrived today, and I was deflated to find that the fit was just a bit too snug and I felt like Bobby Brady when I buttoned it up. As I tend to buy most of my clothes used, I have luck with stretching slightly-small garments after taking them out of the washing machine (or spritzing them with a plant mister) and letting them drip dry. My question is this: as the shirt is @1" too snug for my liking in the chest, is it possible to stretch a never-been-washed cotton garment if one were to dampen it? At this point it's un-messed-with and I can get my $95 back (I entered "tulip" and got 20% off & free shipping, hence the discount) but I'm fearing that I'll gain nothing from trying & it'll end up relegated to the back of my closet. Shirt looks amazing though.
