Strange issue with Brioni suit

I purchased a Brioni NM Colloseo sport jacket from the Brioni Woodbury outlet. When I was at the store I did the pinch test underneath the bottom button and could feel the third layer of fabric so I thought everything was fine. However, when I got home I was trying it the test a few inches above the top button and on the lapel and it seems as if the lapel area has only two pieces of fabric, one obviously stiffer.

Does anyone have info on the way Brioni is producing their sport jackets lately? Am I simply performing the pinch test incorrectly or are they doing some sort of full-canvas / fusible hybrid construction now?

The canvas is padstitiched to the cloth in the lapel area so you will not feel a separate layer there, only the heavier one that you observed. it's entirely normal.
