I'm intrigued. I do some smoking with tea (e.g., duck breast, black cod) in a wok, but outdoors with a portable range. Having an implement that can be used indoors would be useful, particularly if it was built to take the rigors of smoking.

My GF got one as a gift. She said she used it once and said that it made her granite counters unbelievably hot (the cooktop is set in the middle of her kitchen island). She's been afraid to use it since then.

I thought you were supposed to use it on the stovetop?

how can it make your counter incredibly hot? Doesnt make sense
