There is really nothing beautiful about a hurricane besides the satellite shots. I'm getting sick of seeing the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier picture and people saying how powerful it is. Bleh. Those dudes go back into their hut during extreme weather like this.

I'm in the city. City travel restriction starting at 6pm - they want everyone off the roads except emergency responders. Not sure how they enforce that, but whatevs. Kind of a bummer b/c a friend was supposed to come hang with us tonight but she has a cat and had to bow out as a result.

I'm just waiting for the power to go out. It sucks. It's inevitable, so you just sit around waiting.....

I believe you can be fined. Last time we had snow duty a civilian ran into one of our trucks and he got a citation for being on the roads. That was in WV though.
