Just got the word today that I'll be in Rome for 4 days on business. Safe to say I'm ecstatic about the trip. Of course I would like to see the historical sights, but as a SF'er I'm obligated to check out the stores and take a few pictures. And try on clothes that I can't afford.

I definitely plan on visiting the Brioni flagship store and would like to know any suggestions on other shops that might have unique displays or offerings worthy of visit. Does Caraceni, Sartoria Partonopea, Caruso, Kiton, Borrelli, etc have stores there?

Boggi !

You can find most of the brands you mentioned in the US but Boggi is a special treat you can get only there

Davide Cenci. Their store is fantastic.

I'd also go to Eredi Pisano. Some fun clothes at prices a lot lower than in the U.S.

There is a strange little Pal Zileri store that has some great stuff (including Zileri Sartoriale) but it's very very expensive.

Rubinacci has a shop in Rome. You could also visit Battistoni.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
