There are quite a few threads about how to dress for work.
What happened to dressing as a professional, and not worrying about what people think?
I am in sales and marketing, and wear only bespoke 6 x 2 DoubleBreasted suits everyday.
This is accompanied by French Cuff dress shirts with tab collars, cufflinks, and pocket squares.
On a weekly basis, I see people who dress the same as myself, along with people in the
Entertainment Industry who wear nothing but jeans, Tshirts, and baseball caps.
I have never had an issue with being overdressed. People are looking for solution sto
their problems.
Granted, I own the company, but even while working for Fortune 500 companies, I still
dressed the same way.
I have found that most people appreciate and admire someone who knows how to dress
well, and comport themselves in a professional manner.
To those who denigrate this approach, do not be overly concerned about their opinions.
I have generally found them to be in my rearview mirror in a relatively short time.
Remember the old adage, "You only have one chance to make a first impression".
What do you want people to take away after making your acquaintance?
