I live in a decent building in downtown Montreal. It's not what I consider upscale, but in this city of everything being very cheap, it's definately not a place for the unsavoury. But, there's this woman who lives on the 9th floor. She's like 70... she makes this weird clicking noise **************, and she smells like Satan's asshole. It's a combination of not bathing since the 70s, swimming in a giant ashtray, and god knows what else.

I think police should write tickets to people who smell incredibly bad. In my last 2 years in montreal, I've barely ever taken the subway. Maybe like 5 times. I'd say at least 3 of those times someone smelled like they'd soaked themselves in urine. I know this comes with living in a city, but for christ sake, today I was in the elevator with this old woman again, holding my breath. I used to live in the other tower on the 31st floor, and there was this other old man who rode around in one of those little cars. He also did not bathe. I guess I'm not very lucky because now I live on the 10th in another building in the same complex, and I often have to share the elevator with the one person who stinks to high heaven. Most of the other tenants are either students or professionals, so obviously it isn't a widespread problem.

Is there anything you can do about someone who smells absolutely horrific?

Is she frail? Some frail older people who live alone are leery of getting in and out of the bathtub more than necessary, so they end up washing up (inadequately) more often than actually giving themselves a proper bath. In addition, certain medical conditions result in various unfortunate odors.

Perhaps you could offer to visit her and bathe her properly, like the concerned young man that you are.

I have to take a bus everyday filled with Arabs. Luckily it's winter now so they don't smell too bad through their thick poofy jackets but they're still pretty rank. One has discovered Bath and Body Works so in addition to their disgusting B.O., he wipes this sour smelling **** all over his hands each morning.

They seem like really nice and good natured guys, but they ******* stink.

Are you sure it's not their camels parked outside you're smelling?

No, she's not frail. She's just gross.

Every semester I have a class where I have to move because some smelly person sits next to me. Some of which were girls who thought it would be a bright idea to spray themselves down with something stupid like cotton candy scented body spray every morning. Some of which have been those hipster guys who will not step outside with no less than 3 sprays of some **** like Aqua di Gio.

Find the womans address and send her a friendly anonymous care package of soaps, laundry detergents, and deodorants.

Stop being so racist, man. Not all smelly Arabs ride camels. Or is it not all Arabs ride smelly camels? Well, whatever, you know what I mean.

I find your comment very offensive towards camels.

When I lobby up in Tallahassee, I am usually paired up with a very nice, competent women who is a very good lobbyist. She also has horrendous BO, and in a profession like lobbying, impressions are obviously very important. I just don't get it. My older brother and I both have naturally strong BO, but I am pretty diligent about wearing deodorant and smelling nice. My brother walks around smelling like old tennis shoes all day. It's just appalling and rude to those around you.

I've always thought that instead of putting money in to things like bomb detectors in public places, we could build machines that would detect high concentrations of urea. That way, when a particularly foul smelling individual walked through a door, it could lock them in and de-ionize them, or at least flash a sign saying "You ******* stink. Go home and wash!"
