What's the better quality shoe? Personally, I've owned one pair of Steve Maddens and it was the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever worn. I've owned a few pairs of Aldos and haven't been all that impressed. Both were more casual slip-on shoes.

What would you guys choose? Both companies offer brown wingtips that I like quite a lot, but can't decide on which. Leaning toward the Maddens.

Steve Madden Banelli (no laces, it's a slip on with an elastic band under the tongue)

I could definitely see an advantage to having shoes with holes for laces, but are actually slip ons. I can't tell you how many times after a night of getting sloshed at the clubs that I came home and didn't want to risk falling down by untying my shoes.

those shoes both have glued on soles and will fall apart after a little while.

I highly advise against buying anything from Aldo. Yes, they do a great job creating trendy and stylish shoes however, they are such poor quality that it doesn't matter. I used to buy Aldo shoes back in the day and was always unhappy with them. If you wear your shoes once a week, like I do, they will not last more than a year. The soles are poor quality and the leather is shit.

As far as Steve Madden goes, I've never bought a pair but some people say they are solid like a 6 out of 10.

Both shoes are supposed to be "trendy" shoes so people buy them and wear them for a few months then toss them (or they just break). Both of the shoes look pretty bad but if its wore just for clubbing where they will be stepped on and drinks dropped on, just get some cheapies.

I know they're not the greatest quality shoes in the world, far from it, but I wanted to stay around $100 price range as just knock around shoes. If you guys can think of anything better for about 100 bucks, let me know.

Neil M. Broadway. I just picked up a pair in this color on Overstock.com for $79. Sturdy, good looking leather shoe with a more modern, long toe. Resole-able Goodyear welted leather sole. (Rubber heel.) These are made in Mexico, some of their models are Made in USA. Can be found on Amazon. Many styles on closeout for about $100 on the Neil M. website.

Some of those Neil M. shoes look really good; you should probably check them out if you are on a budget.
