Noob question, I'm not even sure if this is what they are called. Anyway, at what point in the life of a shoe do you want to get these installed? This photo has them installed before even being worn. So does this mean I should go get them installed on all of my decent shoes? The reason i'm asking is because my first pair of EGs are on the way so I want to make sure to take proper care of them.

Best to do before you first wear them. Find a good cobbler who has experience installing them. He will have to cut and grind down part of the sole to make them sit flush. Should cost about $40-50 per pair.

and ship all of my shoes to B. Nelson aka VIP in NYC. The cost is $35 + shipping. Can't go wrong with them. They've done over 20 pair for me. Edit*** nvm, Nashville. Just ship them to NYC. Have it done right. Don't even bother fooling with a local.

Besides, if you can afford the $1k for these shoes I doubt very much you'd be worrying about them too much.

Wrong.

I wear the toes of my shoes faster than the sole. Depending on the last, if I didn't have toe taps, I would be resoling after four weeks. Regardless of how much money you have, that would be obnoxious.

This man is a fool and you should never listen to anything he has to say.

From you prior post, it is quite clear that you have no idea what you are talking about. You also have no idea how much I walk, what surfaces I walk on, or how I walk.

Clearly, there are others that wear the toes of the shoes faster than the sole. If there weren't, then metal toe taps would never sell.

OP drags his toes when he walks. You drag your knuckles. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

And as for trailer park, you'll have to tell me. You seem more familiar with them.

Are you REALLY suyre that you need them - you seem to be adopting them because of some perceived idea it is the right thing to do.

Four weeks? - is something wrong with your gait?
