Hi Everyone. I steamed a new suit on my shower rod with the shower curtain open. Now my suit has visible damage under the lapels, running front the top of the lapels to the bottom of the lapels. I would describe this as popping. I have never seen anything like this before. Also, on the inside, the jacket looks unstitched where the "popping" appears on the front. Is this fixable? I believe it is not visible with the lapels down. All comments and expertise would be appreciated. THANK YOU.

People who make suits will tell you that steaming a suit is a very bad idea, for this reason (among others). What your suit needs is a good pressing. (I'm not able to make out your photo for some reason)

Those marks are intentional. When you tried on the jacket did it stand away from your chest? It looked like the lapels were bowing out and not laying flat?

The suit was custom. I have worn it three times and never detected these marks on the inside or under the lapels. I took the first photo with the lapels up, so everyone can see the "damage." I do not believe it was there or this pronounced before the steaming. I actually placed two suit jackets and a sport jacket on the shower rod. All three jackets now have these marks. The thinner the fabric, the more pronounced the markings. I plan to contact the tailor, but I wanted to run this by the group first. The inside appears to have come unstitched/popped. I'm not sure any of this is visible with the lapels down. I still do not like it. The jackets felt a LITTLE damp last night, so I just wanted to let them air dry. When I get home, I am going to try the jackets on. I'm hoping the shape was not destroyed. The unstitching concerns me.

Which sweat shop made them?
