Yes! Not pictured are the corn Yorkshire pudding and horseradish tower which all came later.

Thoughts: its prime rib so technically inappropriate. Salad was absurdly delicious. Bread was good but i came here for BEEF. (and oddly the salad). Is there a more perfect combination than horseradish and beef? The beef had an older flavor. Not bad and im sure im telling myself that. But it didn't have a modern steak flavor. I dont know if that makes sense but the restaurant is from a different era and i dont know how wlse to describe the meat than also being of a different era. I dont know. Really not wanting to know my calories for the meal. That was the first time I can recall eating Yorkshire pudding and it was good. Yes sf is known for sourdough but i think you need either a pudding or bread.

In short: when in sf visit house of prime rib.

Yeah i finished my steak and maybe 1/3 of everything else and they went
"Would you like another slice?"
Me: "OF WHAT?!?!"

HoPR is the definition of "old school, good school". Wife takes me there for my birthday every year.

Hanger steak at home tonight. With a bacon and pumpkin seed relish and some plant materials.

I have a real soft spot for old school steak houses, especially the ones with the rustic theme. Bonus points if there's a wood-burning fireplace inside and the whole place smells like smoke.

Keen’s is my favorite nyc steakhouse for the exact reasons you mention.
