Yes. In Japan, there is this type of microwave that functions as an oven as well as a toaster. Cost just around a hundred bucks. Worth every penny.

The Internet is now starting to produce some fairly specific meat "appreciation" for ... aficionados.

It’s kinda beautiful.

I like that someone spent a not-insignificant part of their limited time on Earth thinking about that vehicle. Not being content with devoting how many hundreds of man hours they devoted to designing said object, they then invested a truly unjustifiable amount of time and treasure to engineer and build that.

All for a 90-second video.

I like that because it means someone is *almost* as big of a waste of brainpower as me.

*Almost.*

Speaking of impressive...

I found this little guy lurking in the back of the counter at my butcher's. Small Simmental ribeye, visibly from a place in the rib of animal that's closer to the sirloin (strip for all of you in the US ;) ).

Judging by the colour and the smell, this must have been aging for at least 3 months, maybe more. I think the not too high fat content on this one is helpful in this case, the taste was absolutely exquisite, a little bit funky, without being overbearing.

Not sure if I'm the only one doing this but lately I've fallen into the habit of trying thin raw pieces of meat from the steaks. Given the advanced aging on this one, honestly, I could have had the thing raw - it was so tender, so flavourful.
