(Thracozaag @ April 10 2005,17:49) Petrucci is phenomenal. Â My friend recently heard Satchmo, Vai and Malmsteen (aka the bloated Swede, heh) and said it was fantastic. koji

Vai is good. Petrucci's better. But recently i've been listening to some old school rock a lot. Especially the Deep Puple/Ritchie Blackmore songs. Blackmore really is awesome.

Blackmore was very underrated.  Randy Rhoads, George Lynch, Trey Spruance, and Larry LaLonde, Andy Summers are some other underrated guys I really like.

I just love the Ozzy Osbourne songs on which Randy Rhoads plays the guitar. He's a lot better than Zakk Wylde imho.

Zakks's not bad, just not as good. I also still love to listen Eddie van Halen play the guitar. Can't help it.

Rhoads was tremendous, a real loss. I was remiss in not mentioning Allan Holdsworth as well, what a player.

So Koji, when are you having a joint concert with an axe player? Trading riffs for riffs would be amazing.... [IMG]

I've been little if any use in the clothing fora, but I can hit you off with some metal that will...sound different from all the other metal listed above.

Allow me to recommend Pelican, Mare, Mouth of the Architect, Arsis, Candiria (anything up to and including the album 300% Density), Kayo Dot, Dead Blue Sky, Rune, Pig Destroyer, Between the Buried and Me, Into the Moat, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Rwake, Sleep, Khanate...
