Starting a New clothing line and need some pointers.

Can someone help me out with any good websites on starting a clothing line. I have wanted to do this for years and now have started my research. I have some questions so if anyone knows the answers please let me know.
1. What are the months that the retail buyers start buying. For instance the Fall 2009 or Winter 2009/2010 line do they start buying in in July or August something else.
2. When retailer buy the line do they except it within a week or do they want you to wait until time comes closer to the season?

Any other suggestions please send my way.

Retailers are at Magic this week buying Fall 09, which we will start shipping end Aug/ September. The next set of shows for Spring 10 (Haberdashery, Collective, Project, Magic etc.) start in July.
