That would be awesome, except for the fact that it may feel too similar to this film. Two films in a row with genetic supermen as the villain? People will want a good Klingon or something instead.

Unless this ends up being a big two-part deal - v. Harrison in the first act, big climax where Khan is released, and boom, segue into Star Trek 3...

Disappointed that my 3D Hobbit didn't include the extended preview. Check w/ your theatre first.

    ^ Awesome.

I'm sure it'll be a lot more satisfying than that one person who watched The Phantom Menace before everyone else.

What I would love to see.... Wesley Crusher is back. Pissed off from being scolded by Picard for his flying horseplay in TNG, he comes back in time to destroy the entire federation.

Having learned that time and space and thought are all different aspects of the same thing, he thinks a gigantic wormhole into existence, gradually pulling in and consuming all matter, light and energy in the universe, until at long last the only thing remaining in the universe is Picard's forehead, which finally winks out of existence in a strange flash of dark energy.

Will be badass, but question is, how would it stack up to the Youtube jandrew TNG edits, which set the Star Trek bar several years ago?

Is anyone reading the Countdown to Darkness prequel comics from IDW? Have heard they have yet to reveal anything about the villain from the film, but are making some interesting changes to a few TOS characters. I enjoy the feel of this rebooted universe, but can see it pissing off classic fans.

It shouldn't, story forked, get over it.

If course my TOS fanatic fiance may discount my opinions since I prefer TNG (sacrilege?!)

Yes, sacrilege, and it's ok that the story forked but they've turned a progressive science fiction TV series into a sequence of increasingly dumb action movies. Even in a "forked" universe the Enterprise's mission was not to shoot first and ask questions later.
