No one will replace Uhura in my heart.
I wish there's another diora baird cameo
Official image & the reveal of the villain's name. John Harrison
EDIT: Info looks legit and is being picked up by a variety of sources. http://www.slashfilm.com/new-star-t...tifies-benedict-cumberbatch-as-john-harrison/
Could point to the theory that the character is another augment like Khan was. Maybe even one that was on the same ship, but left asleep. Perhaps in this reality Khan is not waken up and Harrison is? Otherwise I have no idea who he could be.
EDIT: Scratch that... Harrison is a character from official canon. http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Harrison
I was really hoping this was going to be a Harry Mudd story.
Watching the first movie. Forgot how beautiful she was.
It's amusing that people are still speculating online it's Khan. I just don't see it and with the recent interviews with Cumberbatch, I think it's safe to rule that out. http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/12...villain-promises-hes-not-khan-under-an-alias/
So who is John Harrison? Well he's not the redshirt from the original series that shared the last name. It's been confirmed that the character has superhuman levels of strength and intelligence. It's here and playing into fan's expectations that I am going to double down on my theory that he's one of the genetically altered super-humans like Kahn was, just not the same man. Harrison will either turn out to be one of Khan's men or perhaps even more interesting the leader of a warring faction from the Eugenics Wars. We know that other warlords existed and fought against Kahn, so it wouldn't be too much of a leap to believe that some of them might have survived and been placed in extended cryogenic sleep too.
I haven't been reading the speculation online but I was a pretty big fan of the original series. If I had to guess I'd place that guy as Gary Mitchell, the science officer who developed godlike powers after being hit by a magnetic storm.
Can't be him. The comics set in the rebooted universe are considered canon and he already made an appearance there. The story didn't leave an opening to reuse his character in this way.
Plus Gary's powerset don't seem like a good match. Why would he be getting into physical fights?
Oh, well there goes my theory.
Because he's a badass.
I'm not trying to pick a fight here, but if I were a director, why would I feel restrained by what a few comic books that maybe ninety thousand people read?
Separate names with a comma.
