Got to watch a screening last night and it didn't disappoint at all. FWIW, the 3 rows of Trekkies in full Federation Uniform sitting behind me were gushing like they creamed their pants halfway through the movie. The new Kirk and Spock tandem fits like a glove, but imo the rest of the crew stole the show, specially Bones McCoy and Scott.

Going to see it with my dad.

Lolol father son bonding over star trek. To make it worse, my grandfather is an accountant who loves gory action movies.

I come from a long line of nerd.

Yeah, same. I've actually seen more of the old 60's series than anything. I think it's gonna be a cool sci-fi action movie with bigass spaceships that happens to be set in the Trek universe. At least, that's what I hope. Also...Simon Pegg.

I meant, so that you don't have to wade through the entirety of Starfleet and the Klingon empire to watch a movie.

Okay, so I have the opportunity to see if early Friday, at a "special showing" put on by Cisco. Here's the catch; I have to sit through an hour (possibly more) presentation on Cisco products with my staff and the IT department. So if you're in my situation, do you go and potential want to kill yourself before the opening credits role, or wait a couple of weeks?
