What a tone. Been listening to him while on the beach, just so perfect. That album, "Up at Minton's", is in my top 5 live jazz albums. Phenomenal.

Nice--these are always my favorite threads of yours.

What else would be on your definitive (well, for the moment) top 5 list? Mine would have to include Sunday at the Village Vanguard and Art Blakey's Night at Birdland (I will cheat and take both volumes as 1). After that, not sure...

Nice post Conne.

I personally feel this would be better served in the "What music are you listening to lately" thread as opposed to starting a thread on such minutiae, but that doesn't change the fact that this is some great jazz (though I'd rather some hard bop meself.)
