I did a search and came up with some conflicting info, so I was wondering if anyone had solid advice on how to clean suede shoes. I remember someone posting a really great video that demonstrated how to do it, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Anyways....

I got a new pair of suede shoes and wore them out to dinner with a lady friend. Literally within 2 hours of taking them out of the box, the girl spilled tomatoes on my left shoe. They are just desert boots, so I tried using Clark's foaming cleaner and it just ended up making the surrounding area look dull and didn't take the stain out at all. I remember someone saying once that it might be ok to put the whole shoe under some water and then brush the shoe with a suede brush. Does that sound too extreme? Does anyone have any better advice?

Thanks in advance!

I'd probably just wear them and let it dirty up naturally at this rate

I would wash the whole shoe using your cleaner, let them dry, and use the suede brush to raise the nap back up.

Grind up some chalk, put powder on the affected area, dust it off the next day, and brush.

You did remember to apply a stain repellant on your shoes, right?

If someone can recommend me a Suede stain repellant, that would be awesome!

Also, are there any tricks in cleaning blue stains from raw jeans off light/sand suede shoes? Or any ways to prevent it?

Thanks

Help me solve this.. picked up Alden suede chukkas a few days ago. Last night I went to spray them with stain repellant. In the process, some of the repellent dripped off the can's nozzle and onto the shoe. The drops on the shoe left a stain immediately. Not sure where to start considering what caused the stain..... help?

It should fade with time.
