Stacking Pants Besides Jeans

So all of my dress pants / khakis are cut with almost no break (some have a little, for variety). All of my jeans are cut to stack in some way or another. I just picked up a pair of Ervell pants that I think might look cool stacked. They are a cotton / cashmere blend.

What do you think?

a) Keep them as is
b) Cut them with no break.
c) Shorten them a little, but keep them stacked (if this is case how much should I take off?)

Some pics.

It can work sometimes, though for most trouser cuts I tend to forgo stacking.

Those Ervell "pants" cut and details seem more like jeans although the color obviously more like khakis... I think the stacking you have is alright, but I'm not sure I like them styled with the sleek italian shoes for some reason. I think a slightly more thicker shoe with a more rounded toe might work better, perhaps even certain boots.

Cut. Stacking on non-jean pants just looks messy imo.

There are no official "rules" on this despite what some think.

It depends on the pants in question, the material, fit, and hem. Also, it depends heavily on the outfit and intended look. It can look great either way. I have some trousers that would look like **** if hemmed perfectly to no break, and others that definitely wouldn't work with a few stacks.

Thanks for stating the obvious

the pants look fine but you're going to have a hard time pulling anything un-traditional like with those dress shoes.

personally I would go with more fashion forward footwear or just hem the pants to the proper length

Thanks for weighing in guys. The footwear was kind of just something to thrown on. I would actually probably wear boots most often, but didn't feel like lacing them up for the picture (gf was getting irritated already).

Aside from hemming, is there anything else that can be fixed? Chrono mentioned they look a little awkward in the thighs. I trust my tailor a lot, so I wouldn't mind having him take them in or adjust them if need be.

Well, i know it's hard to get perfect fits on those ervells since you have to size up due to the supersmall sizing. Same with obedient sons pants. I just got a pair of 34s and while they're wearable, 33s if they existed would be perfect.

If i knew of a tailor that i trusted i'd see if he could have a look at them. What would they do? Just take it in from the seam only in the thighs or would it be awkward so just the whole leg? Darts? I'm not sure how all that works. Lemme know if you do so and the cost as i may do that to my obedient sons and ervells when mine come in

I know exactly what you are saying. I actually just had to part with a beautiful part of real slim, grey flannel wool from Obedient Sons that I picked up on steep discount... Same deal, sized up to 34 while I'm a 32. I must say that there is a lot of variety in how his pants fit. The other pair I got fits near perfect everywhere - dangerously close to too perfect in the thighs if I start squatting again. Anyways, since they are a little big in the waist through the thigh I think I'm going to discuss taking it in from the waist down to around the knee. We'll see how it goes.

well to me I think a little break can be fine on non-jeans, it's just that there are multiple breaks popping up on the OP's pants and there's something going on at the knees which I don't like (which could also be caused by the strange fit at the thighs)
