Soooo the EQUO last...thoughts?

To me this is the love child of Riva and Chiseled-B. Almost like they took the Riva and made it a chiseled profile but not as aggressive as Chiseled-B. I'd seriously consider making i pair in this last next time.

I took delivery of a nice pair of VNA Chiseled-B's just before the pandemic hit and i have honestly not found a good opperturnity to seriously break them in yet

I'm planning on ordering a new pair of shoes on My personal last, but I need to make some adjustments to the last. I also want to have my first pair relasted.

Does anyone have experience with the relasting process?

Do you think I should order the new pair first or have the old pair relasted first? Thanks

I don't have experience with relasting. Saying that, my primary concern would be receiving a new shoe that may potentially exhibit problems. At that point, you'd have two pairs that aren't quite right (the original & the new pair). Resolve any outstanding fit issues before proceeding with a new order. Should save you time and money. Additionally, it will provide you a little more time to decide what the new shoe would look like.

I'd also strongly suggesting working with the StC team on the changes you want to do, re-lasting your current pair before proceeding. The only exception to me would be having a well fitting pair and then just hunting the a small improvement to the next one but in that case you wouldn't think of a re-lasting process so i just assume we are talking something bigger here

Assuming what you want to do and you have a relatively fresh pair re-lasting should be rather straightforward assuming that your changes are actually possible/advisable and the there is material enough for the change to be done.

I've relasted two pairs. I ordered a final pair on a personal last after making adjustments, but I should have requested another trial pair. The result wasn't satisfactory. We then made a two further adjustments to the last including adding some additional arch and metatarsal support to mimic my orthotics. The changes were significant adding substantial volume to one shoe. Once I was confident, after another two pairs of trial shoes, that we had everything right. I ordered a new pair and sent both the first pair made on my personal last and an older pair on a last with fit adjustments for relasting. The results vary. The shoe made on the last with fit adjustments is now comfortable but not perfect. The shoe made on the earlier version of my personal last is better. The newest pair is best and nearly perfect. It's really a question of how much change you need to effect. Leather is elastic but only to a degree.
