I wasn’t looking for a special feeling, but I wasn’t impressed visually either for a lack of better word. I wanted to hear other people’s expressions and what they like most about it. Sometimes the things we don’t see are the most important
What are the things in shoes that will impress you?

As big a proponent that I am about StC, I admit that the shoes will not win first place in a beauty contest. Probably will not place top 3 in fact.

As mentioned previously, they are classically elegant. Some makeups beautiful even. But, they aren't going to wow you like a pair of YF or Eiji Murata shoes will. To me, they weren't designed for that purpose.

The unassuming yet elegant aesthetic is what I like about them, and what others probably appreciate as well. They will dress up any suit or outfit. However, they are not going to be the spotlight of the outfit. Which, imo, makes them extremely versatile.

A pair of Catella's are stunning and headliners but unless you are dressed up in a Michael Browne or Chittleborough suit, they become the focal point of the outfit. StC grants you the opportunity to always look your best without having the spotlight shone on your feet.

said better than I can, though my view on StC is still different than you guys, it's a "solid" shoe when I handle at the Armoury but it never wowed me, which I guess for me is a factor I care, but maybe a few years down the road I would come to appreciate otherwise

You said it better than I could. Best fitting shoes I have ever owned, and I own many brands. Bravo St. Crispin's. I don't own YF or Eiji Murata. Would love to own them. Looking forward to trial shoes from Hiro Yanagimachi MTM. I was going to have Dan Wegan do something for me on his next U.S. visit. StC has disabused me of that bespoke project. For now, my feet have found a very cozy home at StC. Thanks again for your post.

Glad I could assist in conveying the positive feelings a pair of StCs brings.

An advisory alert, HY MTM is going to turn your head ??.

For HY, did you attend a trunk show, or does HY do a remote fitting like StC?
