Guys, I am on the verge of getting some Saint Crispins. I wear a 41.5 for Vass F last; will a UK7.5D fit me for Saint Crispins?Been hearing that we should size down. I wear a UK8E on the EG888 but its slighly long. Will appreciate some advise =)

Damn, that toecap shouldn't bend at all. The crease will likely get deeper in time and that's when the pain hits the ass. One of my Hungarian MTM pairs does this, I believe they were made shorter than necessary as there's nil room in front of the toes. Lucky thing mine are a casual pair, I'd be losing sleep over smart shoes.

For the StC classic last I have found that sizing down 0.5 from EG 888 UK size is a perfect fit for me, meaning if you're UK8E on 888 I would go UK7.5F in StC (note that StC standard width is F, however for me sizing down to E with some last modifications has been best, but this is highly individual obviously).

adding further to the confusion maybe...
Im a UK7E on EG888 and for the StC on classic last Im a UK7F.
The advice to size down 1/2 size might not be that bad as I could also wear the StC UK6 1/2F,
but I thought the gap at the lacing was too big and they felt a tad too tight

My new MTO. Standard fare except for the fact that I think I am the only with a 4.5 F last. Yes I have small feet. Courtesy of Leatherfoot Toronto.

As another data point, I'm a 12D or 12E in most American shoes, 11F in G&G,11E with fitting adjustments in Anthony Cleverly, and while my first pair of St. Crispin's was a 10.5F, Phillip Carr recommended a 10.5F for the left foot and 10G for the right. I don't own any EGs, so don't know what my size is there.

Mimosa, how long does the outer sole measure on this handsome pair? One SF member, konda, has the oddest long feet (around size 13½B) I've ever seen in real life. One of his Meermin pairs has a 35 cm outer sole.

Nice shoes, but why rounded last for small feet? The shoes are very much "look-at-meeeee" ,is it a good thing when your feet are tiny?

    Hi VRaivo:

I measure 10.5 inches from the longest point, straight from heal to toe, on the bottom of the sole. Is this the measure you want? Do I win something if I have the shortest measure? :)

I think they proportion well even at the smaller size. Much better than something with a toe cap like the shoes I'm wearing in my avatar picture.
Also, I'm not really uptight about my shoe size.

Proportions look perfect to me. The only thing attention grabbing is the color and that only if worn with charcoal suit.
