i'm kind of excited to see the art St. Crispins calls shoe trees up close & personal
Well, I thought this was pretty cool...
Trees match the order number.
Great looking Chukka.
Welcome to the world of St. Crispins.
Which one are you getting next?
dark chocolate buffalo with a little extra stretch over the toe & at the heel for some easier burnishing and shine
Excellent, Great Choice!!!
congratulations. i've always luved that style & color. they must be amazing in person
I love thу 524 model, great choice!
Wore them today.. Had lunch with client and got unsolicited compliment - which doesn't normally happen.. But yeah, besides the comfort - which they have a great arch support and fit like a glove, the other thing the pictures don't really capture is that the toe is polished and the rest of the shoe is more of a matte finish. It really pops outside..
Next pair? Yeah, I've got to replenish the fuel cells before i go back for more Crispins, and I have a order of Leffot x Alden black shell naval boots coming in the next month.
But they do seem a level up from G&G in terms of craftsmanship, and I like that you get their trees included.. So it's not much of a step up in price if paying full retail on both and adding trees.
This StyleForum thing sure is pretty costly..
Quote for truth.
Great looking and versatile shoes!
Welcome to the world of Saint Crispins I am sure it won't be your last! Excellent choice on the 524 chukka boots. I was thinking of ordering a pair in suede or shrunken calf.
I ordered these same shoes in March and expect them to arrive any day now. I am a little concerned about the size that I ordered which was 1 and 1/2 sizes smaller than my "standard American size." The sales person told me that I wanted them snug and that they would ease and conform to my foot with wear. Were you told anything like that? They are beautiful shoes. Congratulations.

Not really. And I might be concerned if I were you, as my St Crispins are 10.5 and I am usually an American 11. Having tried on several shoes that day, these were a perfect fit. The leather may well comply with your foot over time, but mine were not loose by any means. Maybe depending on where you are in the continuoum of shoe sizing, a 10 might work, but no way I'd be close to a 9.5. (I'm speaking in terms relative to my size.) The wholecut G&G s I purchased I went down to a 10 because of the construction and fit of that shoe. And those have worked out well.
