I have a negative experience with Wingtip. I bought an Alfred Sergeant boot from them that they labelled a 9, and they state that all their English shoes are labelled in English sizes. Turned out to be UK8/us9. A mistake I can understand but they never even acknowledged/replied to my emails on the matter.

^ exact same experience with Wingtip. 2 pairs of Sargent shoes, wrong sizing due to their description, and basically treated like it was my problem.

Good to know. I would only go to check out the SC trunk show, as it appears that only Leffot gets good trunk shows. No love here in San Francisco from the high end brands.

Cleverley, Fosters & Son, Gaziano & Girling, and John Lobb St James all travel to San Francisco for bespoke trunk shows if you want something high end.

JLP doesn't? Where did you order your bespoke JLPs?

No, they just ignored me. So I had to sell the boots on B&S.

It is a store in San Francisco, they also have an online presence http://wingtip.com/ I ordered some items from them but I have feeling you will find some stuff for yourself there too.
    Cheers

@chobochobo when something like that happens you can dispute the transaction with your credit card company.

@laufer, in retrospect, yes that's what I should have done.

they do not stock them but they did have pair in every size (something like from 6UK to 11UK) and several different widths to be able to nail down RTW fit

Interesting. When Wingtip used to carry Alfred Sargent they had both stock and trial shoes. Didn't know they have trial shoes for Saint Crispins but do know that they dont stock SC.

Just wanted to post yet another great St. Crispin's experience. I recently shipped back a pair of mine to get a resole, and an inquiry about if anything could be done to some damage due to extreme wear (severely beat up sole, and cracked lining and such). I got them back and I almost shit myself. They look brand new, newer than some of my others that have come back with only a new sole. On this well worn pair the entire sole had been replaced (not a half sole, which is normally done), and the lining had been completely replaced as well. I am not sure, due to the sock liner, but if they replaced the insole as well that would have been a serious undertaking being that welting the insole is probably 75% of making a shoe. Also, since I am a huge black shoe guy, my new sole is polished a glossy black as a nod to my taste I'm sure. Hats off to Saint Crispins.
