I'm a bit of a slob at home. Wine stained tee shirts, and ripped sweatpants.
It's belated but Good Riddance
your only a couple of years late...
I think I will buy another pair of Saint Crispins tonight.
I have the 524 Chukka in BCK 076.
It's one of the best pair of suede shoes I've ever owned. The color has quite a bit of red in it when you compare it to true chocolate suede so that sets it apart. Also the nap is pretty short on the BCK when compared to the Kudu.
You want me to shoot you a pic of the BCK 076 next to chocolate suede?
^^^ Those are excellent, Jeff. What are the soles?
Thanks, Jeff! So, is the chocolate suede you're referring to 078? Or is 076 SC's darkest brown suede color?
My problem is that I have a pair of Edward Green mole suede chukkas coming. I don't mind owning two pairs of brown suede chukkas, but I'd like the SC ones to be different enough in color to justify buying them.
Also, I assume that BCK is the calf suede? Are Kudu and BCK the only two suedes?
Thanks for the help, btw.
Here's a short guide I put together for Saint Cripsin's Suede. Technically Saint Crispin's works with 5 types of suede, but I only have personal experience with 3 of them.
Standard Suedes (no additional charge)
BCK (Nubuck) - BCK is a split, shaved calf suede with a short nap. The better term for it would be Nubuck and it comes in the most attractive shades in my opinion.
JAN (Janus Calf, Reverse Hunting) - JAN is a calf suede that has a slightly longer nap than BCK and is slightly thicker and softer.
Extra Suedes (additional charges)
KUD (Kudu) - KUD is the longest, softest suede that Saint Crispin's offers.
You have the added option of choosing from HRS (Chamois Deer) which is durable and short and JAN CM (Janus Calf Marraca) neither of which I have experience with.
Hope that helps guys.
I wouldn't want split suede.
Very useful info.
SC leather is ...
Oh yes, good sir.
Sharing? I'm in the market for my debut pair thou knows...
It's a secret, until it isn't.
