I'm curious, who made your favorite pair of shoes? What do you like about them?
I noticed the same thing with LS and posed a similar question in the Alden thread. The only items being listed of late seem to be lobbs, new balance, and island slippers.
sure wont duck, I like the Alt Wien style in cordovan by Vass, F last plain derby in Bordeaux shell and a Bentivegna by Piergocomi.
What I like - Fit, fit and fit. hand welted, hand lasted and reasonably priced comes second.
What I dont like - have to work with standard lasts and patterns. Quality control not as stringent.
The Alt Wien by Vass is a classic. Great shoe. I have to say that I don't like Vass in general (due to the quality control issue that you mentioned), but the Alt Wein and the Norwegers are the two pair that I kept. Both on the P2.
Yep P2 and Norweger is a killer too, I have one in calf and wanted one on the Budapest last in Shell, sad that they do not do it anymore.

Guys. Don't be idiots or your posts will be deleted, possibly more.
And if you're going to report posts. Make sure that both sides in the argument are clean.
End of story.
Your observations are interesting as I could not believe the big LS association with Cleverley foundered so quickly and next minute there is a colossally cheap sale of the remaining Cleverley stock. Pretty unheard of I thought at the time.
Yeah he did for me as well. Was just checking if last pair EGs dropped and saw he wasn't listed on website no more so hence my last question
Sorry to hear that.
Although I have not purchased that much from LS, I did purchase both of my St Crispins from Shane.
The St. Crispin model 215 in light brown:
You are cleaning up with all the brands today sir. Consider the internet won good sir...
@MoosicPa very nice 215s!! Please let us know how they age. What color is that?
Has anyone here used St.C's Personalized Last program? This is the one where they modify an in house last to your demands.
Quote:Me too. Those are gorgeous.
