In the sense of saving money, Yes.

In the sense of being able to get some real terrific shoes, Nope. LOL

Good Luck.

sooooo

who went to the StC trunk show at Leffot today?

I will be there tomorrow...

any pics?????

am i gonna get seduced into buying more shoes?

What did you kop?

I went yesterday. Ended up getting model 564. I was surprised because I never liked that model in pictures, but seeing it in person it is very elegant. I was going to get two pairs, but I have decided to allocate some funds towards a new summer suit.

I got it in the black CRU crust leather. Phillip actually thought it would look better in the non-crust black leather because it is very deep, blacker than black and doesn't lighten up and such, but in the end he said it is preference. Since I am a black shoe man, I really like the character the crust leather gives to a black shoe so I went with that.

As to the difference between the CRU and FUN that I brought up having both he said they are both crust leathers, but from different suppliers. The FUN is softer than the CRU and is a bit more shiny naturally. In the end it comes down to aesthetics. FWIW, the aniline dyed, non-crust leather (I think there is a "V" in there somewhere) is the "hardest" of the three calfs.

Thanks for the differences, you lucky New Yorkers / Toronto peeps get the trunk show a month earlier!

fantastical choice. I don't have a pair on the classic last yet. if they don't work out for you . . . . we're the same size & I could give them a good home

Went to the StC trunk show at Leffot today.

The shoe below is the personal shoe of Phillip Car. I ordered this one too in midnight blue but with black edge, black piping, and black lace, with flush metal toe plate and initials.

Its a pretty drastic step out from my normal footwear but am very much looking forward to it. The shoes are super sleek in person.

Phillip advised me to size down a half size.

He also said in terms of maintenance of the shoes "Just use wax, don't use cream or any of that reno-****"

I wondered what you would be getting. Why go if your not going to get anything? LOL

Great choice, can't wait to see your pictures when they arrive.

1000

Shhhhhh... There are a lot of vested interests on this forum that sells Saphir products that pushed for a presidential shoe shine starting from stripping away all the shoe finishes...
