How/where would you wear this? hip pockets are squared and patched, with flaps, whilst breast pocket is welted. All three pieces have matching beige linen fabric. Sartorially, it'd appear formal to folks on the streets but I want informed "opinions" by the experts here. Can I pull this in business settings? It's 2011, and many people hardly even wear a jacket to work.

Could not really comment on South Africa although it might look wrong if you meet international clients. There again they might well dismiss it as some quaint local garment.

In reality it is for informal occasions not business. It is a tad eccentric in those pockets but not totally out of this world.
