I need a new, thinner coat for spring. I'm trying to decide on whether to go for a classic beige rain mac or a covert coat. At the moment I'm learning towards the covert coat, but then I have to decide between dark grey or olive, ah decisions decisions.

The easy answer is both.. Anyone have any good recommendations for a good value beig rain mac in London (i.e. less than £150)?

cheers!

I'm afraid the easy answer is both - they do different jobs. Your budget may make you decide on one rather than the other, but in the long run both are desirable.

Well you are not going to get a decent covert coat for £150 unless you find one that has been vastly reduced, whilst trench coat style macs are pretty ubiquitous at the moment, so I think your decision is made for you.
Uniqlo had some trench coats for around £50-£100 I think, their stuff is usually pretty good for the price although I haven't tried their rain coats. You could try Banana Republic, Benetton, and Moss for £150 that is probably the best you can get unless you find sale items. If you can wait for a sale you might find more interesting stuff in your reach - Aquascutum seemed to be almost giving stuff away by the end of their spring sale, and they still had some raincoats in stock.
Barbour released a new fashion lead range, including some raincoats - they might be around £150
