I bought a new Luciano Barbera Collezione Sartoriale sportscoat from a reliable on-line seller. It's a beatiful coat, but when I tried it on I noticed something odd. The front and top of the shoulder are soft with slight roping, and the sort of "puff" I associate with Attolini. That is, the sleeve extends out slightly from the coat body. Looks great from the front. However, in the back of the shoulder this pattern is almost reversed, where there seems to be more fabric in the body of the coat than the shoulder, causing the sleeve to pull just slightly. There is no outward puff of the shoulder, rather almost a puff of the coat body! I'm sorry I can't describe it better and I don't have a digital camera to show it...I examined my other Barbera and Attolini jackets and none look the same. It is symmetric on both shoulders. I plan on showing it to my tailor but I am wondering is this an intentional style point or a symmetric tailoring error? Fortunately I can return the coat if needed.
