Sportcoat or orphaned suit jacket?

I have no connection with the auction other than being somewhat interested in bidding.

I always have a hard time telling on ebay the difference between a sportcoat or orphaned suit jacket.

Thoughts?

It's an Oxxford, so you can check the front buttons -- four holes in each button usually means suit coat. (This presumes the buttons haven't been changed, and there are some exceptions to the rule.)

Probably a suit coat, but don't let that stop you from buying.

It close to a sport coat( which means you can reasonably wear it as a sport coat) and the BIN price of $29.95 is very good for an Oxxford. Seller has decent feedback and if the measurements work for you, it's probably worth a $30 gamble!

Found this old thread and thought that I would bump it looking for an opinion on this jacket:

Sport coat or suit jacket? In addition to this particular coat, what are some tell tale signs to distinguish a sport coat from an orphaned suit jacket? An embarrassing amount of my time is spent in vintage stores and on sales racks.

Suit - it's navy, looks worsted, and isn't a blazer. Who would buy a sportscoat that looks so like a suit coat?
