Why not?

In terms of sartorial rules, "NEVER" is a word that I have put away completely, as most of the time it depends on context...
I should also have added that you should never wear ties with jeans.

Why?

Because it is contrived, effete and a clash of registers.

One could say that a tie or a pocket square is contrived and effete from the beginning of its use, no matter if it is worn with a uniform, a suit or a jean. From its origin, "a tie is a long piece of cloth, worn, usually by men, for decorative purposes around the neck", which has evolved over the years. From my point of view, clothing is a way of communication and self-expression that evolve with the time that can't be restrained with rules that belong to a different moment.

That's fine. Please go ahead and wear jeans with a tie and pocket square.

I think cream jeans would be one of the easier pairing options for this combo. One of the reasons I want a pair. And, you’ve done well here.

They definitely are easier, but I had my green tweed jacket on this morning and it was no good. The jacket is longer than my others which just didn't look right with jeans.
