This has got to be a sock, right?
Yes, you are right. Jeans and sport coats are easy to pull off. Such a great and casual combination. The menswear equivalent of surf-n-turf. A sure sign of impeccable taste.

For the love of god and all things holy please stop! What is with this obsession with high rise jeans?

@UrbanComposition gets it. Take notes gentlemen. It really isn't that hard

The photos you dislike are taken from groin height. Such pictures are rarely flattering. UCs picture has better angle. Judging from the SC buttons they are similar.

Ironically I think that does not work for UC at all.

Higher rise jeans are chosen for the age old simple reason of not wanting to flash the triangle of death.

I'm carrying a decent amount of loose abdominal skin from halving my weight a couple of years back.

If I wear low rise jeans, said skin pokes out and I look like a misshapen teapot. I'll take the higher rise.

Still continuously wearing sportcoats with jeans.

because i'm kinda cheap i haven't updated the jeans i wear most of the time in a while. my go-to pair are slim fit selvedge jeans from american eagle in a mid wash that i got for… $29, i wanna say? my fave pair are Rugby RL's from 6 years ago in a dark wash that i rarely wear bc i don't want them to fade too much, at least until i can find another pair that fit the same (thinking the 3sixteen sl-100x might be the ticket and at some point i just might break down and get a pair. or if @brillopad ever tells me the knee measurement on his jeans, maybe those).

i did splurge on a pair of Sid's natural denim (which to be honest, are almost as tapered as the AE's. just a half inch more in circumference at the hem maybe).

anyway, here's a couple of posed pics from yesterday with the AE's.

Looking for a nice pair of white denim for the summer, suitable to maybe pair with a sport coat. Anyone have any good recommendations for white denim other than Sid Mashburn? I'd need at least 34" length. Just thought I'd check... Thanks!

I’m a big fan of the Levi’s 501 in white. Just have them tapered to 7 3/4” and for <$75 have a great pair that I’m not worried about ruining.....if they last a season I’m perfectly happy.

I came across an excellent brand of jeans with cuts that, IMO, pair perfectly with tailored clothing or if looking for a "neat" fit. It is from Japan and it's called Resolute. I first saw the brand on the Pitti feeds recently and read about it being founded in 2010 by Yoshiyuki Hayashi who was one of the original "Osaka Five" having founded Denime, so that got my attention. I was then happy to run into them in person at Blue In Green in Soho. They had two models, both based upon the classic Levis cuts, vintage type fabric and details including a slim straight and a straight with a bit of a taper. One had button fly and one a zip. Unfortunately, they were sold out in my longer inseam. If you shop at Blue In Green you might want to check them out. They come in a one wash, woven on the old looms, all made in Japan, etc... Kinda surprised there hasn't been more buzz about them. Anyone here have a pair?
