This is exactly the thought that popped into my head upon seeing the picture. If there were a textbook on wearing jacket and tie with denim, this could easily be on the cover.

Those should all work. Just keep an eye on the details like coat pockets, patch work best with jeans. Maybe find a shirt with a bit more texture as well. *just saw your note on the oxford. Carry on.

That blue jacket can work with anything. Polos, loafers, light colored denims... Just not ripped jeans. Don't be afraid to go bold.
