Found an excellent pair of Japanese denim for classic menswear. Oni 902ZR has a nice high rise and slim tapered leg. The denim is a 20oz low-tension weave and has a soft spongy feel to it. The color is pure indigo, which is amazing and plenty of textural interest to it as well. Def the most unique pair of Japanese denim I own.

Nice fabric but 20 oz is going to be too heavy for most people

I thought so too but it is very soft and comfortable, I think it wouldn't even be a problem during summer in LA. This is because the weave is actually very loose and air passes through it easily. It's more comfortable than my Momotaros, which is a tight weave 15oz.

Those look great. Did you pick those up from a US store?

    I found them here:

    https://www.denimio.com/#

Sorting by rise gives a lot of options. It's not a US store but they give measurements for every model.

Inseam likely too short for tall guys....34 inches on the washed is max, should make them an inch or two longer for the 34 and 36 waist. IME, the Japanese jean makers just cant get the scaling for bigger sizes right

Standard & Strange offers some Japanese brands with one wash that are 35"+ inseam, Momotaro for one.

Camelhair today. I don’t know why, but I really like the red gingham/tan jacket/denim look- I do the same outfit with an unlined cotton sc during the summer:
