If you were going to have a navy blazer made, when material would you use? And what tailor, in LA or NYC, would you use. Also, I heard/read about canvas in a jacket. What does that refer to?
    Thank you,
    John

Uh, let's not open that can of worms [IMG] If a jacket is truly bespoke, you can expect it to be canvassed. 100% wool probably is the best material for what you want, but how you would be wearing it will influence whether the fabric should be mid-weight or lightweight, Super 120s or some other grade, etc.

If I were going to wear it in LA, I'd quarter-line it and do it in Soltex (check Zegna swatches), a real thin wool (i.e, it breathes and doesn't wrinkle much).
